Enduring Equine

When choosing a name for my practice I wanted something that would best reflect me, the massage, and my training techniques. Enduring; which is defined as 'Permanent, Lasting, and Patient', fit that perfectly.

Equine Massage is a growing Practice. The most common question I'm asked when telling people about my profession is "Why do horses need a massage?"
Well, when a horse is massaged the muscles are filled with a more oxygenated blood flow, which increases circulation. In return helps to eliminate wastes and toxins in fatigued muscles. Thus, increasing muscle tone, flexibility, range of motion, as well as enhance your horse's competitive performance. Massage Therapy is a natural way to alleviate muscle tension and spasm's, in doing so, improving your horse's efficiency.

In my training program I try to follow these simple rules...
* Make the right thing easy and the wrong thing a little difficult.
* Be firm as necessary, yet gentle as possible.
* Allow and cause the horse to do things; rather than let, beg, and make him do things.
* Exercise the horse's mind-His body will follow.
* Always keep the horse between you and the ground =).
* Be assertive, not aggressive.
* Build a relationship with the horse based on mutual trust and respect.
* Ropes, whips, reins, and spurs are a tool, not a weapon.
* Patience. Patience. Patience-Every horse is different and progress differently, never rush.
* Handle a horse thinking you have all day, it will take 15 minutes. - Handle a horse as if you have 15 minutes, it will take all day.
