Taekwondo, meaning "the way of the hand and foot," is a general term used to describe Korea's national sport. We train in traditional Korean forms. We supplement these punches and kicks with self-defense techniques and overall endurance and flexibility training.
Master instructor Jackie Self teaches all classes. Master Self started her martial arts training in 1976 under the instruction of Grandmaster Roy Kurban. As a competitor, she is a six-time winner of the coveted Eagle Award for high point in the Traditional Karate League.
Her rank accomplishments include:
•5th Dan Korea Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Federation)
•5th Dan United States Grandmasters Society
Master Self began instructing students in a small studio in her home under the name, Ennis Karate Club. As her enrollment increased, she found the need for a larger, more formal dojang (studio). So began the Ennis Black Belt Academy.
The EBBA is a 3800 sq ft. facility complete with a large, padded workout floor, separate lobby area with 2-way mirrors, retail area, and separate dressing rooms.
