Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kind of school is this?

Right now we are a home school, serving one child, our own. But in time we hope to expand our educational offerings to also provide written and online materials for lifelong learning on peace, social justice and sustainability issues.

2. Why do you homeschool?

After examining all of our options (and have mixed mixed success with some of those options), we have come to see that home education is the best fit for our son. We like it because it is infinitely customizable to our son's needs, it is flexible, but especially because the low student-teacher ratio (often one or even two teachers to one student!).

3. Do you think everyone should home school? And do you support public schools?

Home schooling is a good fit for many people, but it isn't the answer for everyone. This is why we (as parents) do our best to support public schools having adequate resources and funding.

4. Are you resources intended only for homeschoolers?

No!

Education for all children (and adults too) happens in many contexts, both formal and informal. The resources we plan to create over time will hopefully be useful for not only homeschoolers, but also for students and teachers in public and private schools who are looking for enrichment, both inside and outside the classroom.

5. Why does your school have a Spanish name?

First, Spanish is a cool language we are working on learning.

Second, our neighborhood is the Sonador neighborhood.

Third, the word means "dreamer" which seems appropriate for what our school is about.
