Ewald's Bar-B-Q

Located in the heart of Perryville, Missouri, we have been proudly serving only the best barbecue, burgers, and ice cream for over sixty-five years as Perryville's oldest family owned and operated restaurant.

As a young man, Ewald Buchheit enlisted in the U.S. Army as a chef and served his duty. He came back home and used his newfound skills to start his own business and put to use his entrepreneurial ideas; meticulously working to design the perfect recipes for barbecue, potato salad, slaw, tartar sauce, relish, ice cream, and much, much more. He was able to hit the ground running, and once off, he hired his wife-to-be, Jinny (Queathem).

They had three children, Bonnie, Terry, and Laurie who were vastly included in the restaurant throughout their childhood. After high school, the business was passed down to Terry who shared in co-ownership with his mother. Later on, Terry hired his wife-to-be, Dotti. They had three children, Sarah, Eric, and Elizabeth.

Since then, Terry and Dotti have taken full ownership while Eric has been happily employed in the company with plans to one day follow in the family footsteps and Elizabeth is now joining them.
