The Exploring the World through Stories Festival engages early learners (pre K- 4th grade) in an interactive and engaging experience exploring cultures of the world through their stories.
"Once Upon A Time…… the stories of the world come alive in an interactive and multidimensional festival".
The festival celebrates stories of the world, and multi-lingual and multicultural storybooks. The celebration includes interactive, hands-on experiences through which students and families can explore world cultures with authentic cultural exhibits, stories and book readings, music, art, dance, storytelling, puppets and world languages.
Authentic multicultural reading spaces examples are:
Travel to Mongolia- An authentic yurt with Mongolian storytellers in dress reading multilingual books and telling traditional stories.
Gateway to China- Chinese storytellers and artists will share traditions native to China including dragon dance, calligraphy, games and music of China.
International Students reading some of our favorite children’s books in languages from around the world- i.e. The Cat in the Hat, The Hungry Caterpillar and many more.
