Our pastured chickens are eat grasses, sprouts, grubs, and insects with supplementation of grains, scraps (chickens are omnivores) and chicken feed. They can move around freely with plenty of access to clean water, fresh air and sunlight. This diverse diet makes for a delicious egg with clear whites and yolks the color of orange marigolds.
FGF pastured eggs are from a variety of brown, blue, white and speckled egg layers that we raised from day old chicks. They are let out to roam free in the morning to forage for bugs, grass and whatever their hearts desire. Occasionally that is the inside of our house!!! The blue eggs come from Ameruacana hens and the dark speckled eggs come from our Black Marans.
