Family Promise Metrowest

Family Promise Metrowest is a community, volunteer based program utilizing existing resources to serve families with children who have lost their homes. Seventeen houses of worship open their doors one a time, 3-4 times a year, to provide safe shelter, meals and hospitality for up to fourteen guests. Our professional staff provides intensive case management for each family, working with them and other agencies to address the root cause of each family's homelessness. Families are assisted in areas that will ensure future sustainability such as budgeting, job training, educational opportunities, and employment searches.

The families spend their days, when not at work or school, at our Day Center at 13 Common Street in Natick, MA. It is their "home" address while they are in the program; where they store their clothes, shower, do laundry, care for preschool children, and conduct their job and housing searches.

FPM families receive all they need while they are with us including food, clothing, transportation, medical co-pays, and child care subsidies, so they can save 80% of their income for the future when moving into permanent housing. Family Promise Metrowest’s unique model is based on a caring community of support, created by volunteers from over 45 congregations, businesses, civic organizations, colleges and more. Volunteers donate meals and clothing while also sharing their professional expertise from tutoring children to financial management classes. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
