Here are common answers (to questions from concert attendees) ...

When IN doubt and need a quick(er) answer, you may want to call the Park's Visitor's Center (800-665-9056 @ Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM and Saturday - Sunday 12 PM - 5 PM) for day of show updates (possible changes to the information below). Also, reach out to our Guest Relations Specialists at 317-776-8181 for more information.

Here are examples of a questions & answers ... "Are blankets allowed?" "Yes, blankets are allowed." OR "No, blankets are not allowed for tonight's concert."

Please note ALL concerts are "RAIN or SHINE" at The Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park (@WhiteRiverStPrk)!

The Lawn (venue) has a "Day of Show" Box Office only, and it generally opens one (1) hour before the venue gates open for the concert. This will vary by concert, so please check your ticket or event listing for various concert times.

If you like to purchase tickets in person and in advance (and save a "little" cash on some of the fees), please check-in at The Old National Centre Box Office at The Old National Centre (502 North New Jersey Street | Indianapolis, IN 46204). Feel free to contact their Box Office at 317-231-0000 during normal business hours (Monday - Friday: 12 PM - 5 PM and Saturday - Sunday depending on events those days).

Thanks for supporting our world-class venue, helping educate the community experience with a smoke-free environment, and enjoying live entertainment!

Cameras and Video Recordings: This policy may change from concert to concert and because of artists' preferences, but generally you are allowed the following types of cameras (Instamatic, Disposable, 35mm, Digital, and Camera Phones) but NOT allowed the following types of cameras (Professional, Audio Recording, and Video Recording). Again, please no professional cameras (with any size/type of detachable lenses), no video cameras, and no digital camera/phone-video permitted. If you are hesitant about whether or not to bring your camera, probably best to us call first (317-776-8181 and 800-665-9056).

Food and drink are available for purchase inside the venue. However, each ticket holder is generally allowed one (1) SEALED water bottle and sandwich-sized zip-locked clear baggie with snacks. However best to contact our Guest Relations Specialists at 317-776-8181 (Day of Show at 800-665-9056) for the most updated concert information.

Coolers are NOT allowed inside the concert venue, but if you arrive early and want to picnic outside the venue, that is perfectly fine. Please note we do not have storage available inside for coolers. So, you would need to take it back to your mode of transportation to our venue (alpaca, ATV, barge, bike, boat, buggy, bus, canoe, car, donkey, helicopter, horse, hot air balloon, hovercraft, plane, rickshaw, RV, sailboat, scooter, Segway, semi, spaceship, train, truck, van, etc.).

Also, we usually provide FREE during the concerts beach style chairs (for most of the shows) for ticket holders … Less that you need to take in with you. There are exceptions from concert to concert based on artists' requests, safety concerns, etc. that may not allow our chairs or your own personal chairs. Blankets are generally Ok but may vary from concert to concert too. Please call 317-776-8181 and 800-665-9056 the day of show for the most up to date info on seating options.

Again, please note that our venue usually provides FREE "beach style" chairs for the General Admission (G.A.) greenspaces to most concerts on a first-come, first-served basis. It is quite possible that G.A. ticket holders may not receive chairs to use while in the venue due to limited supplies, attendee spacing, and high demands during our "chairs allowed" concerts. Please note: Just like 99.99% of other world-class outdoor concert venues, The Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park (@WhiteRiverStPrk) concert series is RAIN or SHINE. That is part of the excitement of seeing live entertainment and music outdoors (our humble opinion). There are certain exceptions, such as, the artist(s) makes a call to postpone due to weather (or other event concerns) or if severe weather is forecasted and determined in advance to change/cancel concerts, the concert may even change venues. In the past years, these challenges are very rare. Since 2003/2004, we have postpone once (Crosby Stills & Nash - a couple of years ago - to the following day) and move locations twice (Arcade Fire in 2011 to the Pepsi Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds - that same day. Cake | Metric in 2012 to the Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville - that same day.).

Unfortunately, camping is not permitted in the Park. White River State Park is an “urban” state park (Indiana's only one). Think of city parks like Central Park (NYC) and Millennium/Grant Park (Chicago) or federal parks like The Mall (Washington D.C.), etc. As for close-by Indianapolis camping options, Fort Harrison State Park (http://1.usa.gov/lGX8ve) is your best bet.

2010

The NCAA Men’s Final Four Big Dance (free concerts series) featuring Stone Temple Pilots, Daughtry, Goo Goo Dolls, and LL Cool J performed to capacity crowds. The season concluded in September with Jackson Browne. In excessive of 50,000 people experienced and enjoyed the entertainment and music at our downtown Indianapolis venue.

The venue was voted one of the “Best Places to See a Concert” in the annual Indianapolis Nuvo People’s Choice Awards. Also, it received Top 5 honors for Live Music Venues in Indianapolis by voters in RTV-6's A-List over the past two seasons.

The 2010 line-up included a diverse and talented group of musicians. In addition to the shows listed above, music lovers experienced The Moody Blues; 311 with special guest Pepper; O.A.R. (. . .of a revolution) with special guest Citizen Cope; Umphrey’s McGee with special guest Rusted Root; Honda Civic Tour featuring Paramore with special guest Tegan and Sara; Gov’t Mule with special guest Jackie Green; Crosby, Stills & Nash; and Train with special guest Needtobreathe.
