Faulkner Academy of Arts

History
Faulkner Academy of Arts was founded in August of 2005. The faculty came from collegiate academia with a desire to prepare students for both further study and performance expertise in line with their own personal goals. Very quickly the Conway Dinner Theater and Women’s Chorus were organized to give our students opportunities to use those skills learned in their private and class studies.

A major change happened in January of 2011 when the Academy and Conway School of Music agreed to merge. Each studio, with strengths in different music areas, now makes us able to meet the needs of our students better than ever before.

Charities
We believe that it is important that our students and faculty give back to the community. This is a long term commitment that started with our first benefit performance in 2005. Katrina victims were in Conway and supplies were needed. The Conway Women’s Chorus first concert accepted donations of money and canned goods.

From 2005 until 2009, we performed for over 20 area civic groups, retirement homes and charity fund raisers. At Conway Dinner Theater’s “A Christmas Carol”, we asked patrons to donate money for the children of the Women’s Shelter. It was so successful that we now pick one charity a year to bring to the attention of the community. Donations collected at performances, as well as performing for the benefit group, is an important part of the Faulkner Academy experience!
