Ferndale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County, Florida, United States. The population was 233 at the 2000 census. The population density was 85.3 people per square mile (33.0/km²). There were 91 housing units at an average density of 33.3/sq mi (12.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.42% White, 0.43% African American, 1.72% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.86% of the population.There were 83 households out of which 34.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.5% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.9% were non-families. 10.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.04.
