FHI 360 - International Visitor Leadership Program

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs funds and administers the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The IVLP connects current and emerging foreign leaders with their American counterparts through short-term programs to build mutual understanding on foreign policy issues. Nearly 200,000 distinguished individuals have participated in the program, including 330 current and former Chiefs of State and Heads of Government, and thousands of leaders from the public and private sectors.

FHI 360 is an independent, nonprofit global development organization committed to addressing human development needs in the United States and throughout the world. FHI 360 operates programs in collaboration with policy leaders; the academic community, non governmental and community based organizations; businesses; and government agencies. In partnership with its clients, FHI 360 seeks to meet today’s social, economic, and environmental challenges through research, technology, management, behavioral analysis, and social marketing techniques to solve problems; and to improve knowledge and skills throughout the world as the most effecting means for simulating growth, reducing poverty, and promoting democratic and humanitarian ideals.

Global Connections staff design and administer educational and professional exchange programs, including the IVLP, with partners in the public and private sectors. Global Connections has designed and conducted International Visitor projects on a wide range of topics including economic development; administration of justice and the rule of law; grassroots democracy; federal, state, and local government; American studies; immigration and border issues; and civic education.
