ABOUT ME
My name is Kevin Finney. First and foremost, I am a Born-Again Believer in Jesus Christ. I have made it a practice to apply the virtues I find in the Bible to my own life (believe me, it's an ongoing process:). The principles of hard work, honesty and integrity are some of the core values that I live by and apply to every job that I do. Jesus Christ said, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I take His words seriously - because I truly believe them - and try to apply them to every business transaction and customer that I serve.
I was born and raised in North Idaho. I have lived here most of my life and grew up spending lots of time in the outdoors and hunting the hills in search of a big buck or elk. Hunting, guitars, shooting, motorcycles, and running heavy equipment would account for most of my hobbies. (That's right, operating heavy equipment is more of a hobby than work to me; let's just say I enjoy what I do!) And most weeks I spend between 4 to 10 hours jammin' music with friends... gospel hymns, blue grass, and John Denver are usually on the menu. I guess you could say, "I enjoy the simple things in life and I thank God for all of His many blessings!"
MY WORK
Over the past seven years I have spent over 5,000 documented hours operating Dozers, Trackhoes, Motor Graders, Scrapers, Skidsteers, Mini-Excavators, and other miscellaneous equipment.
Roughly 75 percent of my experience is in larger equipment -- building driveways, access roads, home sites, pads, and final reclamation of disturbed areas. I can and do use Lasers or GPS when necessary.
Roughly 25 percent of my experience is in smaller scale projects -- installing custom home landscapes, building natural boulder retaining walls, installing irrigation/sprinkler systems, grass seeding, turf, paver brick patios, water features, and final site preparation.
In addition to excavation, I also perform tree and brush removal -- whether it be for a new home site or opening up the view, etc... Usually this is accomplished by cutting brush/trees with a chainsaw and, stacking it in slash piles using a mini-excavator then burning it or running it all through a wood chipper. *Please note: I am not a logging outfit; however, if you have logging needs I would be happy to put you in contact with a local, reputable and experienced company.
*I bid jobs or work by Time & Materials depending on the size and scope of work.
