First Christian Church of Falls Church began its ministry on December 7, 1952. One hundred and twenty-five dedicated Christians met in an Arlington lodge hall and committed their devotion, energies and stewardship to establishing a new congregation in Falls Church.
We love the neighborhood we live in and hope to continue growing our relationships with all of our neighbors. One of our most vital ministries is "Safe Haven," a drop-in day shelter for the homeless. Twice a week, we provide breakfast and a hot lunch, as well as access to county social services.
Our commitment to the neighborhood has deep roots. In 1969, FCCFC opened a child-care center (the Seven-Corners Child Care Center), which now resides in the nearby community due to growing beyond our capacity. Members of our church helped in the development of the Bailey's Shelter, the Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) and the Falls Church Community Service Council (FCS). We continue to support these activities, in addition to supporting the work of our denomination, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) here in our region and around the world.
