Located in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood is a mid-sized parish that is a part of the local Pittsburgh Presbytery, regional Synod of the Trinity, and national Presbyterian Church (USA). Edgewood congregation members are actively involved in mission activities such as the Wilkinsburg Community Ministry, Lazarus Fund, FROGS After School enrichment program, Malawi Partnership, among others. Sunday morning worship ranges from classic to emerging, choir and organ to worship ensemble with guitar and drums. Annual community events include Harvest Happening, the Deacon’s Strawberry Festival, Tartan Sunday Scottish heritage celebration, and Music & More, an outdoor concert ending the Vacation Bible School program.
The building also serves as the home venue for the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra, and houses the Edgewood Day Care, Edgewood Psychological Services, an Alcoholics Anonymous chapter, as well as a Boy Scout troop and Cub Scout pack.
