Who is First Prez? We are Christians. Christians are people who believe and follow Jesus Christ. We trust Him to lead our lives. We are also Presbyterians. Presbyterians are Christians. We believe in one God who revealed Himself and His plans for us in the Bible and especially through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We are members of A Covenant Order of evangelical Presbyterians (ECO)–and as such we are an expression of Reformed Christianity, a part of the (universal) holy Christian church celebrated in the Apostles’ Creed, a people whose roots go back to John Calvin at the time of the Reformation.
First Presbyterian Church has approximately 1,300 members, a Session (Board of Elders) consisting of 23 lay men and women Elders, three associate pastors, and the senior pastor, who serves as moderator. The Session is responsible for the whole life of the church. The Elders are elected for three-year terms. The Board of Deacons, charged with nurturing the congregation and ministering to those in need, consists of 33 Deacons elected for three-year terms. We are a family; and we’d like to be your family. Please join us.
