Life is complicated. Faith isn’t.

GROW FAITH.

You can’t grow faith you don’t have. Faith begins with God who loves us, searches for us, and calls out our name. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to take away our sin. He raised him out of the grave in resurrection to offer us eternal life. God loves everyone and wants to save everyone. At First Church we firmly dedicate ourselves to the purpose of helping as many people as possible to know God for the very first time and to begin a brand new life as a child of God.

But it doesn’t end there. God pours His Holy Spirit into our lives to keep us growing in our faith from infants to bold servants of Jesus Christ. We grow in faith by learning to love God, love other people and love ourselves because to God, life matters in the here and now as well as throughout all Eternity.

OUR COMMITMENT: We will do whatever it takes to help as many people as possible to love God, love themselves, and love other people.


GROW GOD’S FAMILY.

You can’t grow with the family if you are not a part of it. That begins with God through baptism. Baptism means a lot of things to us, including the washing away of sin, dying to the old life and rising into a new one. It is also an initiation in which we are welcomed into the Family of God, His Church. At First Church we are firmly committed to helping as many people as possible to make a commitment to serve God and join our Family of Faith as a member.

When we connect our lives to Christ, we are connected to every other human being in the universe whose lives have been changed by Christ. God’s family is always growing. At First Church, we strive to help the members of our Family to grow closer together through good, healthy, life-long friendships. We work together, play together, laugh together, and cry together. We care for one another.

OUR COMMITMENT: We will do whatever it takes to connect as many people to God’s Family as possible so that no one has to face the uncertainty of life alone.



SERVE THE WORLD.

God has decided that Hanover will be a better place to live, work, raise our kids and grow old simply because His Church is in it. We are saved, recruited, and equipped by God to help in the work of making this world a better place by serving “Inside/Out.”

Just as every member of a family pitches in to keep the household running, every member will have a place to serve INSIDE the church to keep the congregation running. Likewise, every member will have a place to serve OUTSIDE the church to help wherever needed. Christ commands us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick and imprisoned. We seek justice and mercy. Jesus said we are light and salt in a dark and flavorless world. We are here to make a positive difference. We are not the only church in Hanover committed to this, but are delighted to do our part!

OUR COMMITMENT: We will do whatever it takes, short of sin, to grow God’s Kingdom and help make Hanover a better place to live, work, raise kids, and grow old.
