-Trout Fishing Experience-

Welcome. New for spring of 2016, we have developed a trout fishing venue in Bedford County designed to create a unique fishing experience to be challenging to all who visit.

Whether you are a veteran trout fisherman or a beginner, we have what you are looking for.

The stream originates in the Blue Ridge Mountains as two independent streams, Gunstock Creek and Overstreet Creek. When the two creeks majestically join th becomes the North Fork of Otter Creek and flows through the Bedford County Lake to cascade out at a steady fall to form many big pools and runs, finally crossing Virginia State Route 122 near the Mill Stone Restaurant. We have stocked both Rainbow and Brook trout ranging from 1 ½ to 4 pounds. In addition to the stream we also have 3 ponds stocked with both kinds of trout.

We are certain that if you visit once you will soon be back. There is no other setting in this area that gives you a mountain flowing stream so bold and beautiful with such convenient access.

Fishing is allowed daily from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Please call (540) 871- 0704 to make an appointment as we limit the number of fishermen to make your trip more enjoyable.

Fees for Fishing:

Catch and Release - $30.00 per day and requires use of single (barb less) hook, artificial only

Catch and Keep - $40.00 per day and may keep 3 fish. Also have the option to keep an additional 2 fish at a cost of $9.00 each. No requirement type of bait used.

There is no license requirement to fish in the ponds, but if you plan on fishing the stream we strongly suggest you have a Virginia state fishing license.
