Be Inspired; Become Inspiring
Our Mission
The Fishstrong Foundation’s mission is to share the story and philosophy of Jeffrey Fisher through community-based events, programs, outreach, and support.
Our Vision
Our vision is to inspire people to be active participants in their community, to become positive global citizens, while also being appreciative and gratefully aware of the awesome gift that is life.
About Us
Jeffrey Fisher was diagnosed with Stage III Anaplastic Astrocytoma, a type of malignant brain tumor. When originally diagnosed at age 21, Jeff was given only 2 months to live. During his battle, Jeff started a movement called FISHSTRONG, which he defined as “the absence of fear in the face of insurmountable odds.” He used his diagnosis and his newfound perspective on life as a platform to reach out and help others.
Although Jeff lost his fight to cancer after 3 years, the positive impact he had is profound and far-reaching. With his inspiring strength and indomitable positive attitude, he has become known for his heroism as people proudly wear the FISHSTRONG logo to promote Jeff’s philosophy of gratitude and resiliency.
The Fishstrong Foundation was established to support agencies that have made a significant impact on Jeff Fisher and his family. The Fishstrong Foundation is a recognized non-profit in the state of North Carolina and we are an approved 501c3 organization.
