FLC Skateshop

FLC Skateshop was founded by Georgie Tsushima, a professional skateboard videographer and social media guru who had recently been invited to skate for Stereo Sound Agency. Georgie's passion for skateboarding was matched by his love of life, and for his family, friends, and community.

We lost Georgie on July 18th, 2015, and his close friends and mom are keeping his dream alive here at FLC Skateshop. Georgie's vision was to have a shop where everyone would feel welcome and to serve the community here in Ames, by providing friendship, awesome product, and opportunities to connect with others in the sport across the U.S.

Georgie's opening this shop was a huge accomplishment, as he had recently recovered from a serious brain trauma injury which he incurred on August 14, 2014. After a two-month hospital stay, he returned to Ames for what would be a year-long recovery period. He regained his ability to speak, remember things, and even skateboard again -- essentially coming back to us with his self and dreams to share.

FLC Skateshop has had so much support that Georgie made his rent the first week he got his key, as skateboarders and families came in to buy product right out of the box! When he had his official grand opening, he was so excited -- and thankful to everyone for their tremendous support. Indeed, friends and acquaintances even, from across Ames, volunteered their time and talents to helping Georgie prepare the shop for opening.

Georgie returned home the night of his grand opening; and then we lost him that very evening.

This is Georgie's mom here, sitting at FLC Skateshop today, working with his friends to serve the amazing skateboard community here in Ames, thankful as always for their unending love and support.
