Flying Cloud Orchards is a family run business in Southeastern Massachusetts. Mr. & Mrs. Gwozdz purchased the orchard in 1977. Their children and grandchildren help out every season. The Gwozdz Family takes great pride in providing fresh fruit and vegetables, pies and breads from their bakery, homemade jams and jellies and cider from their cider mill on site.
The Orchard is named after the clipper ship, the Flying Cloud. The Flying Cloud set records in its' sail from New York to San Francisco in 1853, a record that was not broken until 1989! The Flying Cloud is also unique for in the mid-1800s it had a skilled female navigator, the captain's wife. Today, Flying Cloud Orchards is navigated by Madeline Gwozdz and captained by Richard J. Gwozdz, a U.S. Navy veteran.
