Folkmoot USA The "Official" North Carolina International Folk Festival

Folkmoot USA is an international folk festival in which more than 350 dancers and musicians travel to Western North Carolina from around the world for two weeks of traditional dance performances. Groups are selected to perform through a highly-competitive, juried process that cultivates the most authentic and entertaining dancers and musicians.

The 30th annual Folkmoot Festival, held July 17-28, 2013, presents performers from Canada, France, Japan, Martinique, Mexico, Slovakia, Thailand, Paraguay (subject to change). Special performances also will feature the region's traditional Cherokee and Appalachian cultures.
