More about Fort Dodge Baseball Association

The Fort Dodge Baseball Association was created by its volunteer members as an organization geared toward developing not only the baseball talents of local youth, but also as a tool to develop the character of those athletes.

The FDBA has provided an indoor batting facility, "The Bat Cave", since 2005. Having an indoor hitting arena creates opportunities for players and coaches to continually improve on existing skills when outdoor conditions would otherwise limit.

The Bat Cave and all the equipment inside was lost after a fire in an adjacent structure January 18, 2016. Thanks to the generosity of the Fort Dodge community and its businesses, the Bat Cave has a new home.

Whether it's a seven year old just getting into the fundamentals of the game of baseball or a seasoned high school senior getting hitting sessions in during the cold winter months, the FDBA seeks to provide the best opportunities for our local youth to become better players and eventual community leaders.

In addition to the indoor facility, the FDBA hosts three tournaments at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex (home of the mini-majors)throughout the summer months for 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, and 14u teams. These tournaments bring in teams from around Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota.
