Fort Madison Police Department - IA

The Fort Madison Police Department (FMPD) employs 19 full-time officers; Chief of Police, two Administrative Captains, two Captains, one Investigator assigned to Lee County Narcotics Task Force, one School Resource Officer, one part-time detective/ Patrol Officer and eleven patrol Officers. FMPD also has six volunteer police reserves, and two secretaries. The FMPD has a long and rich heritage of service to the community, and we maintain a close working relationship with the Keokuk Police Department, Lee County Sheriff's Office, the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa State Penitentiary, located in Fort Madison and the Fort Madison Communtiy School District.

Our fleet of traditional black and white police cars reflect our belief in the time-tested motto "To protect and serve." The officers, reserves, and civilian employees realize that our citizens deserve and expect a high degree of care and competency in all matters of police services.
