The Fort Myers Villas Educational, Literary, and Charitable Institute, Inc. (also known as The Fort Myers Villas Civic Association - FMVCA) was incorporated in 1961. The Fort Myers Villas Civic Association Community Center is located in the heart of the villas situated on two and half acres of land. The land was sold to the FMVCA for $10 as a gift from the developer, Foster Pate.

The FMVCA’s mission is to secure the benefits of and foster the educational, literacy and recreational development of the real Estate owners and residents of the sub-division known as Fort Myers Villas; and to unite the residents for the purpose working together as a community for the betterment of the Villas and its environs, to maintain the community buildings and monuments, to lessen the burden of government, lessen neighborhood tensions and to combat community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.
