How it Works

The word divination comes from the Latin divinus, meaning 'to be inspired by the gods.' To 'divine' is to see or foretell. Many cultures throughout the word and ages, have foretold the future by throwing bones, sticks, reading tea leaves, puddles in water after a rain. The human drive to desire to know 'what will be' is very strong.
There is a force that permeates life and all existence (the something 'other') but, we have seemed to have lost that awareness. The random shuffling of the cards is such a 'random' force. The belief that life is causal is today's scientific view of cause and affect. There is however a universal belief /ancient belief that that everything in the universe is interconnected. For example, the zodiac or reading tea leaves, for anyone, anywhere on the earth are all part of an invisible force.
The great 20th century Swiss psychologist Carl Jung coined the word 'syncronicity' to describe meaningful coincidences. He believed that the Tarot card we select is prompted by something inner that needs to be expressed or must become manifest in the outer world.
The seemingly random choice of cards at any moment is a powerful signifier of the meaning of that moment. It is as if each card picks you, just as you pick the card. We all project unconscious issues onto objects in the environment. We perceive our reality of our own nature. So, we project our inner issues onto each card. Because there is a message in every symbol and behind every image in the tarot. So, the cards we choose awakens us to the powerful patterns in human nature that gives us answers that we unconsciously knew already, but didn't dare to believe possible.
