Franklin County Technical School, Turners Falls MA

Franklin County Technical School (FCTS) has been serving the students of Franklin County since 1976. FCTS is the vocational/technical high school for 19 communities in Franklin County spanning over 520 square miles. The graduates of FCTS have established themselves as community employees and employers in local towns throughout Franklin County.

Located in western Massachusetts, our student population comes primarily from small, rural communities, with Greenfield being the largest of all towns served. Strong family values, towns nestled among rolling hills known for their fall foliage -- these are the cornerstones of our student population.

The towns served are: Bernardston, Buckland, Colrain, Conway, Deerfield, Erving, Gill, Greenfield, Heath, Leyden, Montague, New Salem, Northfield, Orange, Shelburne, Sunderland, Warwick, Wendell and Whately.

Currently, FCTS offers 13, Chapter 74 approved technical programs. As technology and other advances have changed the landscape of most trades, FCTS has remained current by incorporating those new technologies into each technical program. Ensuring that FCTS remains current are advisory boards composed of business professionals active in the trades.

Of course FCTS also provides a solid academic education in the areas of mathematics, history, English and science. Complimenting these traditional offerings are other associated courses such as robotics, CAD design, green technologies including solar, alternative fuels, and electric vehicle design.
