Not-for-profit fraternal benefit societies hold a unique place in Texas history, and for more than 100 years, have been playing vital roles in communities across the state. Fraternals are a different kind of life insurance provider, securing members’ futures through reliable financial service offerings, and giving back to their local communities through meaningful volunteer activities.
Fraternal benefit societies in Texas represent some 1,840 chapters and a combined membership of more than 643,000 men, women, boys and girls. Charitable contributions made by members and chapters last year were approximately $24.5 million.
