Freedom Preparatory Academy PTO

Freedom Preparatory Academy (FPA) is a chartered public (free) school overseen by the Utah State Office of Education, with nearly 1,300 K-12 students housed on two campuses in central Provo, Utah; K-6 at the elementary building and 7-12 at the secondary building nearby.

The school is governed by a seven-member parent-elected Governing Board. Freedom Preparatory Academy’s daily operations are run by an Executive Director who reports to the board. Parent volunteers work primarily through a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

Freedom Preparatory Academy uses the highly acclaimed, academically rigorous Core Knowledge Sequence, Saxon Math and Spalding Language Arts. Other subjects include art, music, French, Latin, broadcasting, digital media, information technology, PE etc. Certified teachers with extensive training implement these curricula.

For upper division students, Freedom Preparatory Academy offers several extracurricular activities. Cross-country, track, co-ed soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and mock trial teams hold tryouts annually. Additionally, Freedom Preparatory Academy has several clubs and academic societies, afterschool classes and a robust Student Leadership Councils for all ages.

Freedom Preparatory Academy provides a traditional, back-to-basics environment by limiting class size to 25 students, instituting a dress code policy, and asking parents to voluntarily commit to 40 hours of school service per school year.
