Friends of 132nd Square Park

Friends of 132nd Square Park is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and improving 132nd Square Park in Kirkland, Washington.

The park is located in the northeast part of the city, in the Kingsgate area, at the corner if NE 132nd Street and 132nd Avenue NE (hence the name!). The 9.76 acre park features two baseball fields, a soccer field, restrooms, picnic area, a walking path, a reflexology path, and a great new playground and swings. Friends and neighbors of the park, including the Totem Lake Neighborhood Assocation, raised money, obtained grants, and contributed a large amount of volunteer labor to bring the new playground and swings to the park.

The park is currently owned and maintained by King County, but due to the recent annexation, will transition to the City of Kirkland at the end of 2011. The delay in the transfer of ownership allows for a smooth transition of scheduled use of the park.
