Friends of Columbia, MD Dog Park

Friends of the Columbia, MD Dog Park was formed to advocate for the creation of an off-leash space in Columbia, Maryland. Our community prides itself on providing amenities for all homeowners and residents, yet there are no off-leash parks for dog owners. In fact, Howard County has just one off-leash area, lagging noticeably behind our neighboring areas: Baltimore (7 dog parks), Montgomery County (5), Anne Arundel County (2), and Frederick County (2). Even rural Carroll County is in the process of creating a dog park for residents.

Dog parks have many proven benefits, including physical and mental wellbeing for both pets and owners, improved pet behavior, decreased dog-related complaints, ad increased property values. Columbia needs a dog park, so let’s make it happen!
