Friends of First Christian Reformed Church of Muskegon

First Christian Reformed Church of Muskegon is a member of the Christian Reformed Church of North America.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, which proclaims the good news of God’s creation and redemption through Jesus Christ.

We affirm three creeds—the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed—as ecumenical expressions of the Christian faith. In doing so, we confess our faith in unity with followers of Jesus Christ throughout all ages and among all nations.

We also affirm three confessions—the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort—as historic Reformed expressions of the Christian faith, whose doctrines fully agree with the Word of God. These confessions continue to define the way we understand Scripture, direct the way we live in response to the gospel, and locate us within the larger body of Christ.

Along with these historic creeds and confessions, we also recognize the witness of Our World Belongs to God: A Contemporary Testimony as a current Reformed expression of the Christian faith that forms and guides us in our present context.



Visitor Information

Our service starts at 9:30AM and lasts for about an hour. After the service all are invited to a time of coffee, cookies, and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall behind the sanctuary.

Childcare is available for infants and toddlers during our worship services.

During the worship service from September - June, children who choose to participate are dismissed for Children In Worship. Young children, ages three through second grade, are invited. This is an age-appropriate worship service designed to teach children how to worship. The leaders will invite the children downstairs to the Children In Worship room and return them to the fellowship room after our service.

We give an offering as an extension of our worship. As our guest, you are welcome to worship with an offering, but please do not feel obligated. If you do give, we thank you for giving to the work of God's kingdom.

While some men worship in a suit and tie and some women worship in dresses, the dress tends to be causal at First CRC. Come as you are!
