Friends of Forman Christian College

Founded by Presbyterian missionaries in 1864, Forman Christian College has educated leaders in government, education, the arts, medicine, law, and leaders of the Pakistan Christian church.

After a period of nationalization that began in 1972, in 2003 Forman Christian College was returned to the Presbyterian Church (USA), which in turn provided a “memorandum of understanding”, which allowed a local Christian Board to manage both the property and the institution. In 2004, FC College received its own University Charter from the Punjab Provincial Assembly. As a University, it can now set its own curriculum and do its own examinations.

Friends of Forman Christian College is a 501(c)(3) non-profit fundraising organization in the United States, dedicated to assisting FC College as it provides its students with a quality, world-class education.

Higher standards in curriculum and degree requirements are moving the college towards additional accreditations. Building renovation and new construction are returning the campus to its former beauty. The student body of more than 5400 men and women now includes more than 770 Christians. New faculty has been hired, including 80 Christian faculty. Chapel services, Bible study and a Student Christian movement group are active on campus.

Friends of Forman Christian CollegeIn June of 2009, 185 graduates received bachelor’s degrees, marking the first four-year diplomas awarded in the history of Forman Christian College.
