MCTV is a Public Access Television station and is extremely important to the residents of Midland. MCTV makes a difference to our citizens by helping many of the non-profits in our community deliver a message about the important services they offer, by contributing to the culture in Midland thru show-casing the performing arts, and is THE place to find out what’s happening in our community - from the City Council and various commission meetings, to the United Way Kick-Off, to interesting lectures, award ceremonies, the Santa Parade, as well as to watch shows created for pure entertainment just for the fun of it!
What is Public Access Television? Public Access was created to provide a free-speech forum, open to all on a first-come, first-served basis without discrimination or favoritism based on content. For a nominal fee, members of our community may take training classes to learn to operate cameras, editing equipment, etc, and may produce their own show about – well, whatever they want! MCTV is a tremendous asset to the Midland community!
The Mission Statement of the Friends of MCTV is: The Friends of MCTV are committed to securing both public and private funding to provide production equipment and support services necessary for the creation of locally produced television programs.
