Become a 'Friend' of Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, the Refuge has many opportunities to enjoy the natural landscape right outside of Elk Grove, CA. Come walk the Blue Heron trail, a series of accessible paths with educational signage, or bring a kayak to the Refuge's group boating excursions! The Refuge is an important habitat for many migrating bird species, bring your birding binoculars!

The Friends of Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the conservation, protection, enhancement and promotion of the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge through its appropriate management and outreach efforts and the provision of appropriate resource-based outdoor educational and recreational opportunities for the visiting public.
