The Friends of the Library in DeLand was founded in 1958. Now over fifty years later, our group is still working to make the community a better place through support of our public library. We contributed a total of $160,000 toward the funding of our present library, and each year provide money for library programs and materials. In January 2014, we cut the ribbon on our brand new book store addition funded entirely by the Friends, where a wide variety of donated books, puzzles, CDs and DVDs can be purchased at bargain prices. The Friends also host monthly book sales.

See our Events section for upcoming happenings at the DeLand Library and Friends Book Store.

The Friends Advisory Board meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m. in the Conference Room of the DeLand Public Library (except June - August). President is Louise Caccamise.

For more information on our organization and becoming a Friend, see our website at dfotl.org or call Joyce Chester at (386) 822-6430, ext. 20755.
