FACTS: A slot car is a powered miniature auto that is guided by a groove or slot in the track on which it runs. A pin or blade extends from the bottom of the car into the slot. Though some slot cars are used to model highway traffic on scenic layouts, the great majority are used in the competitive hobby of slot car racing. Drivers generally use a hand-held controller to regulate a low-voltage electric motor hidden within the car. Traditionally, each car runs on a separate lane with its own guide-slot. The challenge in racing slot cars comes in taking curves and other obstacles as fast as possible without causing the car to lose its grip and spin sideways, or to 'deslot', leaving the track altogether.

Frugal’s welcomes people of all ages! However, racers under the age of 6 years old require adult supervision such as a parent, other family member or guardian. Frugal's Fun Center is under new ownership, with the same great 8-lane 147-foot, Super Cobra track, but with new management comes a racer friendly atmosphere we hope can earn your patronage! We offer a 8-lane GTP track, running USRA Rules, for GTP/Super-16C/Super-16D/4-inch NASCAR/DIRT LATE MODEL w/DLM Rules, and 16D/Falcon/Hawk/Falcon7/Hawk7 racing as well. And we offer an informed selection of parts for our customers. Low rates for track time, plenty of pit-area space with audience space as well, we offer a unique experience for all slot car enthusiasts. We sincerely invite you to come on down during a Saturday Night racing any week except for a few weekends when we have to close to attend National events. Saturday night racing starts qualifying races 6:30pm (6:00pm w/larger groups) until 7:00pm (EST). Actual Race event usually begins at 7pm and goes through until completed.
