The 5 ELEMENTS MODEL
The purpose of the elements is to help guide and establish a bases for success, opportunity and growth to our youth members. Aside from being a safe haven for youth in the community, our goal is to develop productive leaders. Through the elements, we are able to tackle different areas to develop and strengthen.
THE FUERZA 5 ELEMENTS:
MIND EXPRESSION
This element focuses on different aspects of expression, which allows youth to demonstrate/express talents or ideas; this element is not solely limited to the arts. Mind Expression allows for, but not limited to:
*Events (Open Mic Nights, Band Nights, etc.)
*Art Activities (Drawing, Painting, Arts n Crafts)
*Dance (Freestyling, Break dancing, etc.)
*Photography, Poetry, etc.
PULSE
This element focuses on all active activities; activities which accelerate the heart. Engage in sustained physical activity that causes increased heart rate, muscle strength and range of movement. Pulse allows for, but not limited to:
*Organizing Zumba classes, aerobics, Pilates, p90x, and other various workouts.
*Dance Classes
*Boxng Classes
*Our Dance Studio is open for Students to practice any routines or prep for events.
TECH CORPS
This element focuses on all aspects that deals with and implements technology. The purpose is to expose and prep youth to understand and use the current technology efficiently. Tech Corps allows for, but not limited to:
*Organizing Game Nights (video games), Movie Nights, etc.
*Working/making Videos/Films (Creating, editing, etc.)
*Photoshop, web design, graphic arts, etc.
*Developing FUERZA Newsletter
LEADERS CON FUERZA
This element focuses on various aspects of leadership and life-skills. The sole purpose is to help teach and grow perspectives and strengthen self awareness. Leaders Con Fuerza allows for, but not limited to:
*Fuerza De Mujer
*Leadership/Life-Skills Activities
*Youth Council
C.A.F.E
(Community Awareness For Everyone)
This element focuses on all aspects of Civic Engagement. The idea is to develop youth to contribute and help change in all areas of their community, while at the same time promoting Youth-Led initiatives/ideas and/or events. C.A.F.E allows for, but not limited to:
*Break Da Violence Nights
*Volunteering
*Any and all events which promote community involvement.
C.A.F.E also aligns with another important aspect called “College Bridge.” The idea is to connect College students to the community, while connecting our youth to college. This transitioning is vital and key to developing our youth and community. C.A.F.E (College Bridge) also allows for, but not limited to:
*College Nights (College students use the Fuerza Youth Center to study during after-hours.)
*College Fieldtrips (Taking youth to different Colleges)
