Full Gospel COGIC

The Full Gospel Pentecostal Church was founded in 1932 by the late Rev. Robert Plummer. He began ministering on the corner of Pulaski Street by playing the guitar, singing and preaching the word of God.

From Pulaski Street the church moved to several locations throughout the city of Bridgeport, CT, including Housatonic Avenue, Fulton Street and Lexington Avenue. As time passed, the church increased in membership until 1944 when Pastor Robert Plummer went home to be with the Lord. At that time, Elder Conrad Lashley of Stamford, CT was called to pastor at Full Gospel. Soon afgterward, the city obtained the church property for re-development. Elder Lashley had a vision for a church building, used his money, added donations and fund raisers to build a church on Fulton Street.

Ten years later, the State of Connecticut launched a plan to relocate Route 25. This highway would cause the church to transfer its address. However, the Lord had better things in store for Full Gospel.

In 1962, negotiations were completed to acquire our present edifice at 36 Beechwood Avenue. Four years later, Bishop Lashley went home to be with the Lord. The church then installed it's present pastor, Biishop T. Walter Plummer who retired on November, 17, 2012 as Pastor and "Passed the Mantle" onto his son, Theodore Plummer who is now Pastor of Full Gospel COGIC.
