Ganesha Gayathri Temple

Shri Ganesha Gayathri Temple is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 by Shri C.S. Gurukkal. The temple features Lord Ganesha, Goddess Gayathri Devi and is located in Lockport, IL near 159th street exit on I-355.

Currently the temple is being conducted in a residential property with 2 acres of lot size. The temple has proposed to build 3,500 sq. ft building with basement and a parking lot for 50 cars and in the process of fund raising.

At present the temple features Shri Ganesha with his consorts: Siddhi (success) and Buddhi (intellectual); Shri Gayathri Devi with five faces; Shri Uma Maheswara, Shri Subramanya with his consorts: Valli and Devasena; Shri Durga Devi; Shri Guru Dattathreya and the Navagrahas. Daily poojas are being performed according to the Veda agama procedures.
Shri Gayathri Devi is worshipped as SAGUNA UPASANA (attribute) and NIRGUNA/ MANTRA UPASANA (without attribute). Shri Gayathri Devi is the form of trinity of godessess: Brahma Shakthi, Vishnu Shakthi and Maheshwara Shakthi, who are the divine energies of creator, protector and destroyer respectively.

Goddess Gayathri is also known as the energy of Sun God and she protects the one who sings of her. Her five faces represent the five elements namely earth, air, water, fire and sky or ether and her ten hands represent the ten vital energies.
