About Our School
Garcia will provide a positive, safe, and secure environment that will empower students to learn while building self-esteem. Students will be afforded the opportunity to experience success and mutual respect which will prepare them to be life-long learners. The Garcia community will cooperate to produce responsible individuals who are able to adapt to an ever changing society.


Our History Hector P. Garcia
We are proud to have our school named after such an inspiring man. Hector P. Garcia was a distinguished decorated veteran who wanted to pave a way for Mexican American. His goal was to change the way Mexican Americans were viewed in society. They were first-class citizens with the same rights as all other Americans. He rallied for their social and political acceptance. As an immigrant from Mexico, Garcia overcame discrimination and segregation. He became a doctor and served his people. He became a soldier and served his country; earning a Bronze Star and six battle stars in WWII. Garcia was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1984 for his organization of one of the most effective civil rights groups called the G.I. Forum. In 1997 our school was dedicated to Hector P. Garcia, one year after his death.
