When choosing a shop to perform work on your vehicle, make sure they are going to meet your requirements. Do they have specific knowledge of your particular engine? Are they aware of the weak points of your particular vehicle's platform? Here at Gast-Up, we have many years experience working exclusively with LSX and LT1 engines. More specifically, with the General Motors B-Body platform including 1991-1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station Wagon, 1991-1996 Buick Roadmaster, 1991-1996 Chevrolet Caprice and 1994-1996 Chevrolet Impala SS. Although this is our specialty, we also have extensive knowledge of F body cars including all years of 4th generation models of Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. When looking at photographs of engine swaps others have performed, pay attention to details. Be sure the engine bay is clean, the engine itself is cleaned and free from any oil and dirt, and that wiring is neat and not a mess. When it comes to LSX engine swaps, in a B body, F body or any other General Motors vehicle, a 1971- 1976 Caprice or Impala for example, we have done the research.
