News, views, and info about Raleigh's Gay neighborhood!
The west half of downtown Raleigh, also known as the "Warehouse" district, has for decades been the gay hub for Raleigh...and the Triangle as a whole.
In the 70s, Capital Corral gay bar started the trend. Later on, other long-gone businesses such as White Rabbit, The Front Page, Our Place, among others made their home there.
Currently, other gay and gay-friendly hot-spots still make their home in this area, keeping it as Raleigh's unofficial Gay District:
The Raleigh LGBT Center on S. Harrington Street
Legends Nightclub & Five Star Chinese restaurant on W. Hargett Street
The District Pub and Social 113 on W. Morgan Street
The Green Monkey giftshop on Hillsborough Street
Flex Bar on S. West Street
Pooles Diner & Fiction Kitchen vegan cafe on S. Dawson Street
Ruby Deluxe on Salisbury Street.....and many more!
Not to mention the historic Cameron Court & Boylan Apartment complexes, which were famous in the '90s as "the gay ghetto".
