Clarence Thomas with the help from James build the first bocce court in . Carmine Cassese from the MVR Club in Youngstown, oversaw the construction of the courts. Carmine gave James his first bocce set because at that time you couldn't purchase a bocce set from the store. Once the court was build James didn't know what to expect. The response of having the bocce court in the backyard was overwhelming. So the following year Court 2 was built. A few years following the building of courts. The in house league was created and has been going ever since.
