GEAR UP Monroe County - KY

GEAR UP Kentucky 3.0 (GUK 3.0) is a six-year grant program that is funded by the U.S. Department of Education 2011-2017. GEAR UP stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs. The GUK 3.0 program serves 29 middle schools and their corresponding high schools in 22 counties in Kentucky.

This year, GUK 3.0 is serving all 7th and 8th grade students at Monroe County Middle School with the help of Johnathon Poland, the 7th grade College & Career Advisor, and Mark Sherfey, the 8th grade College & Career Advisor.

GEAR UP is providing multiple serves at MCMS; including: college readiness courses, intervention services, college & career counseling, college trips, and The Princeton Review.
