History
The Gem Valley Performing Arts Center was completed in September 1997 as the result of the united efforts of the Community and Grace School District to realize the dream of providing a facility to develop and promote local talent as well as to attract quality entertainment to the area.
S. Bart Simmons was School Superintendent and his Clerk, Brian Mendenhall, did double duty as the Construction Manager with Lynn Andreasen as Foreman. The Board of Trustees assisting the project were Max Christensen, Craig Corbett, Curtis Hardy, Tod E. Jensen, Keith Jorgensen, Clinton Peck and Lonnie Taggart. Myriad workers, volunteers, and contributors erected this theatre as a monument to the strength of a common goal.
The ongoing support of Patrons, Performers, Sponsors, and Community and Committee Volunteers enables financial contributions to the Grace High School Theatre Department under the talented direction of Eli Hubbard.
The vitality of The Arts in Southeastern Idaho is ultimately dependent upon the Audience. Season Ticket Holders continue to form the core of loyal Patrons with "word of mouth" selling the most tickets. Season Ticket Holders are encouraged to share their paid admission with a friend whenever they can't personally attend. Season tickets with documented 100% attendance will qualify for a drawing for a free Season Pass to the next concert season.
