More about George School Equestrian Center

The George School Equestrian Center is great unique program. We serve the George School students as well as the greater community. Nestled on the south end of campus you will find the George School Equestrian Center. The facility has two outdoor riding rings with all weather footing, a heated tack room complete with locker rooms and 18 excellent school horses. We here at the George School Equestrian Center teach the hunt-seat discipline focusing on rider's position and balance on the horse. We strive to teach good horsemanship and compassion for the animal.

The George School students can enjoy our equestrian teams all school year. We offer a Varsity, Junior Varsity and Developmental team so any student at any level can join. Students have the opportunity to practice 3 to four times a week and participate in horse shows. Students participating on our Equestrian Teams not only better their riding but also learn horse-care fundamentals, team participation, and sportsmanship. This program also teaches our students great skills that they take from the riding ring into the class room. For more information please visit our website: www.georgeschool.org (under Athletics and then either under Boys or Girls Sports, Equestrian)

Our community program offers riding lessons to students ages 8 and up for all levels. Whether you just want to learn the basics or you are an experienced rider looking to hone your skills we have something for everyone. Our different instructors are focused on you or your child's riding needs. We have opportunity for those looking to compete as well. As we compete on the local show circuit. During the summer months we offer an Equestrian Summer Day Camp. The camp operates from mid-June to mid-August offering 8 possible weeks of summer fun. Age 8 -15 welcome. We have horses available for beginner through advanced. Each week has a different field trip every Thursday. Every Friday campers enjoy a special George School horse show that friends and family are encouraged to attend so campers can show off everything they learned that week. Lunch is provided everyday for campers and is included in the cost. For more information please visit: www.georgeschool.org/ (under Friends and Neighbors and then Equestrian Program)
