More about Georgia Tech Student Engagement

Student Engagement exists to support opportunities that create a vibrant, safe, and engaged student experience that compliments the academic mission of Georgia Tech. Applying a student-centered approach for students to develop and clarify identity, to work collaboratively with their peers, and to promote the development of a positive campus community, Student Engagement staff are educators committed to holistic, co-curricular learning and building supportive advising relationships with student leaders and student organizations.

Guided by the values of collaboration and inclusivity, the Center strives to contribute to the development of globally minded leaders prepared to engage and make change in their communities.

Greek Affairs provides support and advocacy for the members of the Greek community by advising the leadership of the individual chapters and the executive boards of the four governing councils regarding operations, risk management, recruitment, and membership development. Greek Affairs staff collaborate with several offices on campus to promote accountability and healthy lifestyles, build strong fraternal values, and develop students’ leadership skills.
Civic Engagement promotes avenues for student learning and global awareness to nurture the development of responsible, global citizens who are committed to building community in the intricate, multilayered world. Through specific programs such as Alternative Service Breaks, Jumpstart, and the MLK Day of Service as well as over 40 service-based student organizations, students are able to meaningfully engage in reciprocal relationships with community partners to promote positive social change at the local, national, and international level.
Student Media at the strives to provide the Institute and Atlanta communities with news, information and a forum for the exchange of ideas, while providing an educational learning environment for students interested in creative expression and media management. Through the production of a student newspaper, yearbook, literary magazine, undergraduate research journal, free speech publication, online media and a non-commercial FM radio station, students gain practical experience in news gathering and dissemination, management skills, production, advertising and other vital business aspects of media operations.

By supporting Student Organizations at Georgia Tech the office promotes, and strengthens student involvement and engagement at Georgia Tech through the administration of OrgSync, leadership development opportunities for student organization members and leaders, and oversees student organization annual registration and chartering.
