Girls on the Run Vermont

Girls on the Run Vermont is a 501(c)3 with a goal to inspire girls in Vermont to be joyful, healthy and confident. Girls on the Run is an innovative, motivating 12-week health education, wellness and life-skills program for girls in 3rd to 8th grade, which culminates in a fun, celebratory, and non-competitive 5k (3.1 mile) run/walk, in which everyone wins! The 24-lesson curriculum helps girls develop social, physical and emotional well-being by addressing issues such as self-esteem, peer pressures, body image, friendship, community service and how their positive choices contribute to the world at large. By learning how to maintain healthy habits and an active lifestyle, each girl discovers that she is unique, strong and important, and that anything is possible!
