Gisido LARP

Live Action Role Playing, or LARPing, is a real-life version of the role playing genre of gaming. Participants play the roles of various characters, and act out scenarios, battles, and other scenes. Players take on their character's role, and do their best to exhibit that character's behavior traits and actions. LARPing is used by many to experience different lifestyles and cultures, and by others to decompress and escape from the real world for a short time.

Participants are expected to have an understanding of the rules before taking part in an event. It is important that players understand that the rules and mechanics systems exist to ensure that all players share an equal opportunity to enjoy the game to its fullest extent. It is also important to know that the rules are meant to be followed by their spirit, rather than by their literal meanings.

Costuming, weaponry, and props play extremely important roles in the game; the more fitting to the setting such items are, the more immersive and realistic the game becomes for all participants. One must understand that LARPing is a community effort, and therefore all participants share responsibility in putting as much effort as possible into their costumes, props, weapons, and role playing.

Players are able to focus on various aspects of the game and may choose how their characters fit into the world. Participants are able to do nearly anything that is possible to do in real life, from crafting and building an education, to exploring and becoming involved in political affairs.
