GCFC is registered with the AOPA’s Flying Club Initiative. The goal is to grow the community of flying clubs and provide resources to individuals wanting to start a flying club.
The new (not for profit) GCFC members pay a one-time, nonrefundable membership fee plus a deposit, refundable upon resignation from the club.
Each month, members pay nominal dues.
Members rent aircraft (WET) from the club by Tach Time, not Hobbs — which can save a pilot a lot of money. Hourly rates for the airplanes are quite reasonable too.
Members are allowed to reserve an airplane for a reasonable period of time. A maximum of four simultaneous reservations are allowed, which helps keep available aircraft slots from filling up. All scheduling is done online through a password-protected web site.
Payment is made to non-club instructors when rendered. Club instructor fees and aircraft billing is done by credit card. A minimum of two flight hours per member is required and billed each month to maintain pilot proficiency.
Pilots are responsible for refueling the aircraft after each flight. Fuel bills are included (wet priced) in the rental fee.
